The earnings!

18th November 2008, Mr.Zaffar called and asked me to give a voice over for a character in the upcoming animation movie (epic movie-Hanuman). The recording studio was far from my den. I finished my dance class and my dear friend Naquia dropped me near the studio at 9:30.

11:15 pm and I had rush to my place as I had exams the next day. All went well and Mr.Zaffar paid me (300 Rupees), extremely happy, I felt as though it’s like my first salary. 11:15pm and i had to say "Thanks a lot, Keep in touch...Take care".

No bike, late night and I walked down the lane with my just met friend Chinmay. Auto was needed badly and by god's grace, we got one. The person driving stopped next to us and asked "yellig hoogbekittu?" which means, where do you want to go? I replied, "jayanagar". He said, it will cost me extra.

I told, Guru (Boss) please understand, I'm a student and i can't spend so much and i don't really trust these meter- sheter. Tell me a rate and I’ll pay you that much. He said 150/-(which is actually less) and i started bargaining as though i was in vegetable market. I requested and lied to him that i had no money and to make it 100/- but he said 100 won’t even fetch him anything.
If I had decided to take the meter +1/2, may be, quite possible that I would have paid him more than 220. The last call was to be 130 and Okay was the say!

45 minutes later, I reached my destination. I told him to wait down as I would go and get cash.
I went up, looked at my wallet and saw cash of 300/- which I had just earned. I don't know why,
I got this feeling of giving him 150/-

He was waiting for me, I gave him 150/- and he got a big smile on his face.

Point to be noted here,
It’s not about me telling you that I’m very generous and I’m God kinds.
I want you to Look at the different lives here, (your own life too)
I ask dad, 100 bucks please.. He questions why and gives it the next moment. Today, I just earned 300 which I dint even dreamt of, BUT he earning 150 was a big relief to him as it meant a lot.

He joined his hands, said "thank you sir" & took his way...
